Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Ford Escape AC Compressor, service mgr, disatisfaction

2004 Ford Escape.  AC has not been working, brought to dealer, they replaced cycle switch. Still did not work properly, they then added freeon and dye and blacked lighted system.  They checked for leaks and there was none. Still not working. Brought it back again, and now they say the compressor is where the leak is coming from. They say I will need a new compressor--$625.00. Could the compressor have been the problem all along?

Let them change it. The cars is still under warranty is it not? It`s a 2004 model.IF they claim that`s what it needs,then hold them to it.You have recourse if they fail to provide valid workmanship; right!...Worse comes to worse,speak to the service mgr. and the G/mgr. about your disatisfaction with the guess work."The barking dog gets feed first"..
