QuestionI have a 93 toyota truck 4x4 king cab with a 3vze, manual trans, 250,000 miles. I rebuilt the engine about 3 months ago and everything ran fine for about 2,500 miles. After a long road trip the truck started to have a random starting problem. Sometimes the truck starts just fine, other times it will crank over and over but never fire. When it does not start there is no fuel or spark to the engine. Also when the truck starts the check engine light will come on when the key is in the ON position, when the truck doesn not start the check engine light does not come on. When running there is no check engine light on. Some times the truck will start for a few days fine , then just stop. Today I drove it for a while, ran fine, drove 5 or 6 miles, came home parked it, restarted it once, turned it off and it would not restart again. Other days it wont start at all. It happen both warm and cold.
Answerif you turn the key to on, and before you crank it over there is no check engine light on the dash, then the EFI main relay may be sticking.
No light- no power to the computer,
No power to the computer, no spark, no fuel,
Try switching it with a "like" relay in the same block to check and see if it then starts.
