Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: AC/heater Fan not working., heater fan, yesteday

Question
I have a 01 Silverado 4wd.  We have had a streek of 90-100 deg weather here lately and seems that on hot days the fan will not work at all.  yesteday it worked for about the first 15 min. I made a stop when I got back in a few hrs later nothing fan is not running at all I tried all 5 "speeds" tried turning the AC off and having the heater run nothing helped.  I drove to work with the windows down. When I got off work at 2:30 AM the temp was down to about 75 deg and the fan blew imediatly when I started it up.  Today it was dead from the start I found that if I kept the A/C botton on and switched it to vent it would blow cold air but of corse only when I was traveling at highway speeds. I checked and there was still no sound indicating that the fan was running, it was just the outside air but it was definetly coolded to the normal A/C temp. I'm assuming when I leave work tonight all will act normal again when every thing has cooled down.   Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Matt

Answer
You probably need a new blower motor. just below the right lower section of the dash is where the blower should be.If the blower stops, give a couple of taps against the blower housing and see if comes on.If it does, you`ll know what needs to be done. Very common GM blower issue.
