Car Alarms: Chevy Suburban PASSLOCK inactivation, alarmtek, chevy suburban

Question
Periodically when I try to start my car the PASSLOCK security feature kicks in and I am unable to start my car.  I am using the original key.  This is sporadic without warning or pattern. The only way to start the car is to remove and replace fuses (just reset, not new ones). I have an aftermarket remote starter installed. Please Help, this is making me crazy!

Answer
Unfortunately, yes this
vehicle has a the PASSLOCK II key
based engine disabling system, and will require a
GM PLJX bypass module.

A bypass is required to circumvent for remote start applications.
If left unchecked, it will lock down the fuel injector
rail, and you will then need to
tow it in to GM for evaluation, and resetting.

This Passlock Bypass Module is designed to momentarilly
allow the engine to remote start by sending a proper
coded pulse to open the fuel rail passlock injector
cut off circuit.

The output from an alarm/remote starter
would then shut down the pulse, once it has detected
the engine has engaged, and preserve the integrity
of the passlock system.

That is it's designed purpose.

This is a self learning, resistor sensing
and self adjusting module. Once the VATS/PASSLOCK
wires have been tapped,
you would press the program button to learn,
and it does. The car should then allow start
with any hardware store key.
