Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: A/C Clutch 1990 Honda Accord, pressure switch, honda accord

Question
When I turn the on the A/C switch inside the car the clutch does not engage on the compressor. What should I do. I checked all the Fuses and wiring plugs are attached. Please help. thanks.

Answer
Hello Brian,First you to check if you have enough freon in the a/c.Your a/c system is equipt with a low pressure switch. If the freon is too low, the compressor won`t come on.Then if the standing pressure in the a/c is at least 90psi, you need to check the pressure switch if its working properly. temporary bypass the switch to see if compressor turn on.If that doesn`t happen check for voltage at the switch and the hot lead to the compressor.Somewhere in this process you should fing the trouble maker. The pressure switch is near the filter next to the radiator.

Good luck ,davidt
