Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Procedure to evacuate auto a/c, vaccum pump, service valves

Question
what is the procedure to evacuate an auto a/c  system.  I have the pump, but where does it connect, on the low side port?  My pump does not have any instructions.  I also have guages that need to be connected as well, but no instructions.  What level of vacuum do I use?

Hello Calvin, A vaccum pump and service gauges are needed
There are three colored hoses red for the high side,blue for the low side.The center hose is yellow and that hose is connected to the vaccum pump.Locate the service valves on the car.You pull vaccum for 45min. and the low side gauge should drop vaccum to 29.9hg.The vaccum pump also has oil inside and there may be a sight glass on the pump and check the oil first.When the service lines are attached
open the valves and then turn on the pump.Watch the low side pull vaccum.
