Question
I did as you said in the answer below with no engaging of the compressor.  Does that mean it is bad?

Question -
I have checked my r134a which reads acceptable for a full charge.  I replaced my cycling switch (MT0205) for my 1996 Chevy S-10 4x4.  I tried using a electrical meter on the end where it plugs into the switch but I get no reading and it does not make the compressor engage.  I have also checked the air conditioner fuse in my fuse compartment which is good.  Are there any other fuses I should check or do you suspect my compressor is gone?

Answer -
1. Unplug the 2 wire harness from the front of the compressor.

2. Using 2 jumper wires put a ground one one terminal on the compressor connection and a ground wire on the other connector on the compressor and see if it engages.

Answer
If you performed this task:

Unplug the 2 wire electrical connector on the front of the A/C compressor.

Then:

Using 2 jumper wires put a ground on one terminal on the compressor connection and  12 volts on the other wire on the other connector on the compressor and see if it engages.

Do it AGAIN and see if it engages.
