Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 98 Explorer only blows hot air unless on max AC, vacuum line, motor valve

Question
I have a 1998 Explorer with an A/C or venting problem. A/C recharged in the fall. Fault is a week old.

Is the temperature control switch in these electronic or manual? Even with the temperature control on cold, it blows heat from all the vents.
Even with the directional switch on A/C, it blows heat. When I turn this to MAX A/C it's cold as ice.
Seems like whatever closes off the door to the heater core is inoperable.

Thanks,

Ray

Answer
definately sounds as though the damper door controller door is not operating due to a faulty vacuum line and or the motor controller. Climb under the dash on the passengers side and manipulate all your heat-A/C control lever and watch to see which motor/valve is not moving.
