Recently had A/C serviced.  Tech replaced the expansion tube, pressure checked good, leak tested good, all appears normal.

I have a thermometer in place in the vents.  On a mild day (85 deg, some humidity) air the air temp thru the vents is approx 60 deg.  However, on a hot day (100+) the air coming out is about 70 deg.  Also air temp will rise at idle and will fall once your cruising on the freeway.

Are these conditions and air temperatures normal?  This is a pretty large van and still does not cool well.

I took back to tech and he says all checks fine.
Answer -
Sounds a little to warm for me. Could be a faulty expansion valve or not enough freon or there is still some atmospheric air in the system that he did not evacuate out.

What would you expect the air temp to be?  Should it fluctuate with the outside air temp or should it remain fairly constant?

Answer
The vent temperature will vary dependent upon air and humidity changes on a daily basis, But your vent temp readings are way to high for any conditions.

Under any conditions you should be able to get atleast 45 degree vent temp while driving the vehicle.

there is definately something not right with your system and it appears that the tech that you have working on it is not that experienced or lacks a higher level of diagnostic skills in order to repair your problem.

If I had access to this vehicle I know I can get your vent temp where it belongs but numerous tests need to be performed
