i recently installed a new ac compressor and orfice tube and seperator and I also added 8 ozs. of startup oil as reccommended by manufacturer. I took my vehicle to a garage to have it evacuated and charged. I left instructions about what I had done. they did evacuate and charge about 2 lbs of of gas but they also added another 8 ozs of ac oil. i am experienceing hi head pressures and I wonder if it could be excsess oil.

HOLY COW. Yes, you have excessive oil in the system.

the maximum amount of oil in the entire system is only about 6 to 7 ounces.

What you should have done was empty ouit the oil from the old compressor and measured it.

Then emptied out all the oil from the new compressor and installed the exact same amount of fresh oil into the new compressor that came out of the old compressor.
