Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 1992 Buick Lesabre air conditioning., garage mechanic, compressor clutch

Car inside vents blow warm air with A/C on. Compressor not engaging.Jumping the refrigerant pressure switch does NOT allow the compressor clutch to engage.  Can I run 12volts to the compressor terminal to test system? There are two leads to the clutch connector. Is one + and the other - ? If so, which one is positive?  Garage mechanic says (guessing!) the car's computer is bad.  Sounds like the cure for everything....replace the computer. Had been working fine.

Whenever a mechanic cannot figure out what is wrong with a vehicle, The same old excuse always comes out. IT'S THE COMPUTER and I don't have the equipment to test it.

You need numerous tests to be performed by a reputable A/C facility.

GUESSING will only cause more problems.
