Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Fog coming out of my AC Vents, mitsubishi galant, 2002 mitsubishi galant

Question
Have a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant. When my AC is on and set to max cold everything works fine, but as soon as I move the temp dial to increase the temperature fog start coming from the vents, and do not stop until y set back the dial to maximum cold. The fog smells like antifreeze. Any ideas?

Answer
Since the FOG smells like anti-freeze this tells you that the EVAPORATOR is leaking and MUST be replaced.

You may also want to check the 2 heater hose clamps that attach the hoses to the evaporator at the firewall connection as sometimes these clamps get loose and leak anti-freeze into the evaporator housing.

If the hoses clamps are OK and TIGHT and you see no signs of leakage then the evap is leaking.
