Pontiac Repair: Borken Block Mount, gm dealer, pontiac bonneville

Question
I was wondering if you caould tell me where I would need to look to find instructions on how to fix a broken block mount for my 03 pontiac bonneville. It is a SLE model. I took it to meineke and the guy there told me that IF I know how to do breaks, which I do, that fixing my block mount would be simple once I got the part. He said that there is a bolt missing from the block mount and now my engine is slanted. Every time I drive, it makes a humming noise because its leaning on the axle. So I really need to get it fixed. PLEASE HELP

Answer
Hi Danielle:

A block mount is an engine mount. If it's broken or loose yes it will cause a banging noise and clunk feel. Now wether it's broken or missing a bolt??? I know you said bolt but why did it just losen up of din the mount break or where the bold threads into the engine didn the threads strip out or did the bolt break off in the engine block? It all depends on the situtation as to what needs to be done to fix it. if it's just a matter of a bolt missing you can goto any gm dealer and they can order that bolt for you or even tell you the correct size bolt meaning diameter and thread and you can goto a parts store to get that same bolt more than likely cheaper. but untill you know what exactly happend it's hard to give you and exact fix. If the bold threads stripped out or the bolt broke you have got a real problem that needs to be addressed. Good luck :}
