Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 97 Grand Cherokee AC not working properly, compressor clutch, grand cherokee

Question
Dear Sir,
I got this problem all at once last summer. There's no more cool air come out with the AC on. The compressor clutch still rotates, but switching from on and off very quickly. I first thought it could be lack of 134a then I refill it by myself. It worked fine for only a couple of days. This summer, last weekend, because it was so hot, then I check it again. After jumping the swich of the compressor to make the clutch keep running, I found the cooling intake metal hose is cold which means it might not be the compressor's problem. So, is it evaporator's problem? Or any leaking possible? I just don't get it why the tube feels very cold while the air still comes out warm. Please give me some advice and many thanks.

Answer
You have a LEAK in the system, Most likely in the EVAPORATOR which needs to be replaced.

Of course this small tube will feel COLD, But by the time this compressed coolant is dispurder into a very large EVAPORATOR it will naturally loose it's coldness.
