Answer
This is WHY you cannot get freon into the system because the system is full of AIR. You have to use a vacuum pump to evacuate all of the air from the system BEFORE you can install the freon.

IF your replacing the compressor because it was noisy or locked up, then you would have needed to FLUSH out the entire A/C system due to small debris pices being strewn throughout the A/C system.

You also needed to replace the EXPANSION VALVE and the ACCUMULATOR.

You also needed to empty out the refrigerant oil from the old compressor into a measuring cup and put FRESH oil into the new compressor in the EXACT SAME amount that you took out of the old compressor.

So NOW you most likely have small bits of debris strewn throughout your entire system INCLUDING some in your NEW compressor.

Basically what you have is a DISASTER of which will take an expert repair facility a lot of time and cost you BIG bucks to get the system to work properly.

had you had a facility install the original compressor, You would not be looking at this HUGE repair bill due to your error.
