Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: compressor clutch92 G-20, wire jumper, jumper wire

Question
I had head work done on the engine. the compreessor worked before this, but now it the cluth will not engage. there is no current to the clutch.

Answer
OK, Most likely you have developed a leak in the A/C system.

1. start the engine.

2. Set the system for A/C. Low blower speed.

3. Locate the accumulator (receiver/drier).

4. Remove the 2 wire electrical connector attached to the LOW PRESSURE switch on the accumulator.

5. using a jumper wire jumper the 2 wires together within the electrical connector that you just disconnected.

6. If the compressor engages with the jumper in place, You have most likely a LEAK in the A/C system and freon needs to be added OR the LOW PRESSURE switch is faulty.
