heater vents will not change from defrost to floor vents 1995 firebird any help please

What mechanical work or ANY kind of work has been performed on the vehicle recently ?. As most problems that occur after a recent repair was made can be traced back to the area of where the repair was made as a vacuum line may have been knocked loose or a wire connection came loose, Look around in the area where work was performed.

In MOST cases when you ONLY have air coming out of the DEFROSTER vents this is a classic example of a loss of vacuum from the engine to the instrument panel within the vehicle due due to break in the line that attaches to the engine and passes thru the firewall and into the instrument panel within the vehicle.

this vacuum line can be either RUBBER or a small black plastic tube.
