Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Heater, pontiac bonneville, heater hoses

Question
I have a '96 Pontiac Bonneville. The heater fan works fine but i have no heat coming from the vents. I thought it was because my anti-freeze was low so i filled it up, but it didn't help.
Could it be the heater core?? If so, how much do you estimate it would cost to fix? Any other suggestions??

Thanks,
 David G.

Answer
IF BOTH heater hoses are HOT to the touch when the engine is at normal operating temperature your problem is NOT the heater core.

Your problem is most likely with either the:

1. Damper door control motor.

2. the A/C-Heater control module.

What mechanical work or ANY kind of work has been performed on the vehicle recently ?. As most problems that occur after a recent repair was made can be traced back to the area of where the repair was made as a vacuum line may have been knocked loose or a wire connection came loose, Look around in the area where work was performed.
