Question
1994 full size chevy blazer 5.7li 350. Problem: AC cycles on and off aprox 3-4 times every ten seconds. I have no leaks and a fully charged system. I have also replaced my cycle switch. What should I do/check next???

Answer
There are only a couple of possibilities for this condition:

1. Low Freon (refrigerant) charge. Did you use A/C gages to verify pressures ?.

2. Atmospheric air in the system. Did you evacuate the system PRIOR to installing the freon ?.

3. A faulty pressure cycling switch. Did you TEST the NEW one before you installed it ?.

4. A faulty HIGH or LOW side A/C pressure switch(s) on the A/C lines (if applicable to your specific system).

5. A faulty orfice tube (expansion valve).

6. A REED VALVE(s) problem within the A/C compressor.

7. Excessive freon. (refrigerant) in the system.

8. Excessive freon oil (refrigerant oil) in the system.

9. Incorrect TYPE of freon. Some 1994 vehicles still use R12 and most ALL newer use the R-134a. Are you SURE you installed the correct type.

What you are going to need is a set of A/C gages so you can
physically see what the high and low side pressures are at BEFORE we can do anything else.
