Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: heater problems, e mail address, electrical schematics

Question
I have a 1998 Buick Regal which lost low and medium fan speeds with the heater. I went to the GM dealer and purchased a new resistor assembly. Problem is I have spent hours trying to find it. Haynes manual was no help and the dealer just said to remove the glovebox and its under the dash. Do I need to remove the entire dash to find it? Any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks

I do not have a 1998 Buick Regal book, But I do have a 1998 Skylark that should be in the same area. Look in the engine compatrment mounted on the firewall to the left of the steering column as you are facing the engine.
