Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Rebuilt vs. new A/C, honda accord lx, honda factory

Hi,

Is there any difference in size between rebuilt and new a/c units? I have a 1990 Honda Accord LX 4-dr. I've heard rumors that the rebuilt can be larger by a few inches, but my mechanic says otherwise. Just thought I'd ask an expert. Thanks!

There have been a few occassions where the compressor that was ordered was to a DIFFERENT manufacturer fo whom makes the compressor, But if your AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN ordered a SPECIFIC manufacturers compressor or a HONDA factory replacement you should get the EXACT same manufacturer as the compressor that is currently on your vehicle.

I have only seen this a couple of times in over 25 years. and I would not be concerned.
