Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: heater not working, faulty component, autohelp

Question
I have a 1997 Audi A6 (2.6 V6) station wagon, It has climate control, with a LED control panel on the centre consol, the A/C works fine and the fan works fine but when I call for heat , there is only cold air, All the pipes are getting hot and I have no over heating(engine) problems.

Any ideas?  Thanks

Answer
What was the LAST repair on the vehicle ?. ANY repair of any nature ?. In most cases problems that arise days, weeks or even months later can usually be traced back to the previous repair.

In ost cases the problem is within the A/C-Heater control Module or programmer as every manufacturere has their own name for their components even though they perform the same tasks.

It could also be a vacuum or electric operated control valve under the dash that is NOT setting the DAMPER DOOR in the correct position.

There is NOT just ONE specific component that is the MOST LIKELY faulty component and a diagnostic procedure is warranted in this case to perform hands on tests to locate the faulty component.

Depending on the repair history we MIGHT get lucky.
