Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Ford Air Conditioner, common sense test, ford vehicle

Yes, the vehicle was used, however, it was from a fleet rental company (not an individual) and was obviously maintained by an  maintenance section.  Your answer was not of much help concerning a track record that Ford vehicle air conditioners have had.  While it is possible for a part to fail at anytime,  it does not pass the common sense test that it fail in July and failed in October in the same  van.
Don't think that your light bulb example is similar to this case.

Question -
I purchased a 2003 Ford E-350 XLT van in February and to date the air conditioning system has inexplicably failed totally and suddenly twice.  The first time, the Ford dealer claimed there was a defective part in the rear unit and replaced it under warranty.  This time, the service manager claims there is yet another part failure which has caused the system to fail.  Is this "normal"?  I have an extended warranty which I believe is going to cover the repair, but it seems like "Quality is Job NONE!" if this is the best Ford can do after nearly 60 years of air conditioning cars.  Is there history on these units?  My experience with these things is that they generally hold up about as well as any other part of the car, so I'm perplexed by the lack of reliability in this case.  The van is only used for on-road driving and the air conditioner runs all the time.
Answer -
As the old saying goes SHI* HAPPENS. Yes, it is entirely possible for 2 parts of an A/C system to fail within days, weeks or months of each other.

There are numerous parts within this extended A/C system and parts are going to fail at the rate at which they decide to fail. You bought a USED vehicle and you don't know HOW well the vehicle was taken care of by the previous owner.

As an example:

I just replaced a light bulb in my son's bedroom last week and another bulb burned out 3 days later. Should I call the bulb manufacturer and complain ?.

No disrespect or rudeness intended.

Answer
I don't know just what you expect from a used vehicle of which you have no knowledge of proper maintenance of.

Parts fail, It's just that simple.

We can't predict when they are going to fail, We can only find the cause and replace the part.

Can you predict when the next light bulb in your house is going to fail ?.
