Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 98 Sable GS Sedan, Heater, coolant leaks, coolant fluid

Question
Now that fall is here I noticed that the heater does not throw out any heat. Even when the heater/temp control is set to max (engine at normal temp) heat, I get cool air when the function control is set to heat and warm air when set to vent. Get plenty of air circulation through the various vents just no heat. Coolant fluid is new and at normal levels and clear.

What was the LAST repair on the vehicle ?. ANY repair of any nature ?. In most cases problems that arise days, weeks or even months later can usually be traced back to the previous repair.


Is there coolant flow thru the radiator when the cap is OFF and the engine is running ?.

Are BOTH heater hoses HOT to the touch when engine is at NORMAL OPERATING TEMP ?.

Is there a THERMOSTAT in the cooling system ?.

Are there ANY external coolant leaks ?.

Does the temperature gage read over 3/4 hot ?.
