Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: air conditioning, r 134a, mercury sable

i had my compressor in my 1998 mercury sable replaced because it was not blowing air, now it blows cold air for about 45 minutes and shuts off, my mechanc cannot seem to figure out what is wrong.  any suggestions?

WHY SPECIFICALLY did he replace the compressor ?.

Did he install a NEW or a junk yard compressor ?.

Does your A/C system use the R-134a type refrigerant (freon) or the old R-12 type refrigerant (freon)?.

I need to ask a few questions in order to help you find and fix your problem.
