Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: AC recharge, ford bronco 2, ford bronco

Question
Question -
Where is the recharge valve on a ford bronco 2 1989? I've found a few spots that look like they might work but not definate, please let me know.
Answer -
Before I answer your question, WHY do you need to find it and do you posess the proper A/C equipment and skills to make A/C repairs ?.

Refrigerant (freon) is a VERY DANGEROUS solution that can freeze fingers and cause blindness or severe eye injury should it contact your skin. A/C systems operate within pressures up to 350 lbs and are NOT to be worked with unless you posess the proper equipment and technical skills.

Follow up Question -
I do posess the proper equipment and ym friend has the proper skills to make AC repairs. I'm aware that this solution is very dangerous and I don't intend to have any skin showing while doing this. I need to find it because my AC unit works but no longer puts out cold air, this started recentally so I'm being led to believe recharging it would fix it.

Answer
FIRST thing. I have NO intension of being RUDE and or dis-respectful in any manner what-so-ever, So PLEASE do NOT be offended by my questions. I need to know if people who want to do repairs have the proper equipment and technical skills FIRST.

OK, If you friend has the technical skills, He/She should be able to find the LOW and HIGH side fittings of the A/C system. GUESSING is VERY DANGEROUS.

The LOW side is always either on the receiver/dryer (accumulator) or on the LARGER A/C return line.

If in fact the refrigerant (freon) has been expelled from the system, You must have a leak somewhere in the system.

Just recharging it will NOT solve the problem of a leak. The refrigerant that you put in will only leak back out and you will be constantly putting more and more refrigerant in it all the time.

If in afct all the refrigerant has been expelled due to a leak you need to:

1. Find and fix the leak.

2. Evacuate the atmospheric air from the system via an A/C  vacuum pump.

3. Recharge the system with the type of refrigerant oil and or refrigerant that the manufacturer installed when the vehicle was built.

Most older systems used R-12 refrigerant, Since R-12 is VERY expensive and almost impossible to purchase you will have to convert your system over to the new R-134a refrigerant.
