Auto body repair & detailing: Approx. Cost to repair/replace a passenger side view mirror

Question
Hi Dave,
I'm unsure if this is the right place to ask or not but there were not any experts in the Mitsubishi Repairs section. I need to replace (i'm pretty sure replace) my passenger side view mirror of my 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander and I do not want to be taken advantage of at the mechanic shop. I was wondering if you could tell me what the ball park price or range would be for the parts and labour to replace the mirror.
Thank you
Janine

Answer
Hi Janine!....I just checked out the Keystone-Cross Canada website for you, and found that there is an aftermarket passenger side mirror available for your vehicle. The cost is between $238 and $248 Dollars, depending on if the glass is heated or not. It also states that the mirror available through them, needs to be painted to match the vehicle. In regards to having a mirror painted, this should not cost any more than 1.0 Hour in labor. The cost of installing a mirror on almost any vehicle, should not be anymore than 1.5 Hours in labor. For example: The labor rate at my shop is $75.00 per hour. Labor would cost you $75.00 to paint, and $112.50 at the most to install it. Factor in the cost of the mirror, and the total should be $435.50. Hope this helps you out....If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write me back....Thanks....Dave
