Auto body repair & detailing: Pre-Cleaners, tree sap, liquid glass

Question
Bob,

I have been using Liquid Glass pre-cleaner for well over ten years. I haven't looked into any other pre-cleaners in that time period  so there might be better stuff on the market. I have noticed Liquid Glass doesn't get out some tree sap stuff - usually yellow stuff left behind on the paint finish that seems to penetrate into the finish.

Anything better on the market or a product that you have used and recommend?

Thanks.

Answer
HI,

I use Stoner Speed Bead as a pre-cleaner/polish. The best way to remove tree sap is rubbing alcohol. Cheap and easy. Keep the rag soaked and rub gently. Follow up with wax. Sap will blemish the paint if not removed quickly, 24 hours in cold weather longer when it's warm
