Auto body repair & detailing: car cleaning, nylon brush, baking soda

Question
i have a weird situation that you can hopefully help with. i removed the carpet from my camaro to vacuum them and left them out of the car for a couple days. i was then driving and made a sudden stop where a bag sitting in the passengers seat shot out with some baking soda that spilled onto the carpet and mixed with a drink that spilled. i did not know this happened at the time, and found out a couple days later (i dont drive my car daily). now the baking soda has dried into the carpet. if i wanted to clean the car myself, what would be the best way to do so?

Answer
Hi,

I would start by using a spray bottle of plain water and a stiff nylon brush made for carpets. Give a good squirt or two and brush the area. Vacuum and repeat if necessary. If the area still fills sticky from the drink I would use a little all purpose cleaner and do the same as the with the water. Allow to dry, look for any baking soda residue that may be vacuumed up.

Let me know how this works.
