Auto body repair & detailing: auto body repair-pitted windshield, auto body shop, auto body repair

Question
I took my 2010 chevy impala to a auto body shop to get both rt.side doors repaired...I got hit. When I went to get the car the doors were wavy and I noticed pitting on my windshield. I refused to take the car. Now they are saying that it was nothing they did. I cleaned the car very good before I took it there and it was not like it then. I can't find out much about it on the internet. Is there something they could have done to do this. I know they clear coated the csr as I paid extra thru GM when I bought the car for this. I asked the auto body to make sure the car repairs got the clear coat...Help. Thanks

Answer
Hi Brenda,

Pitting could be caused from welding but nothing on this particular job should have needed welding. Actually, none of the procedures that they should have performed would have caused pitting. Unfortunately, this would be a your word against theirs and it won't be worth pursuing. You can check with a glass company and see if it can be fixed. Many glass companies offer glass repair.
