Question
QUESTION: BOB

Hi, I own a 1998 Ford Explorer Sport, and on the top of
my truck there are Black Metal cargo ribs and metal hold
downs, they are not shiny that I can use regular wax.
Also I have black plastic parts on the outside of my car,
I tried a number of things but nothing lasts.
So what is the best wax or solution that I should use for
the Metal cargo parts and plastic to make them look good and
to preserve them.

thanks

Ken

ANSWER: Ken,

With a vehicle of this age there is nothing in the area of wax that would work. Most of the black vinyl or metal may have deteriorated past the point of looking good. I have seen stuff that restores this type of matte finish, but have never used them.
