Auto body repair & detailing: Possible bent frame, wheel alignment, toyota dealership

Question
Hello Dave.  Someone backed into me a few months ago, it was a hard hit to the driver's side front corner. The headlight was broken, hood and front panel bent and per the Toyota dealership (where I had it repaired), the frame was bent as well.  All was supposed to be repaired.  Since I got it back it has not driven well to me.  It kind of wallows.  The front wheels don't turn in a smooth manner, but have a sort of bump feel in the turning, almost like going over a slight bump.  Could the frame still be bent?

The way the car drives makes me not trust it.  It has less than 20,000 miles on it, so I'd really like to get this fixed and keep it.  Except for this problem, everything else works great.   What do you think the problem could be?

Thank you so much for your help!

Answer
Hi Carla!....First of all, what I would do, is to take your vehicle straight back to the Toyota Dealership at which it was repaired....Describe in detail, as you have done to me, to them...If you feel something is not right, and are not comfortable driving it, then it needs to be addressed immediatlely...Steering, suspension, and brakes are safety issues....As far as the frame still being bent, this is also possible...Depending on the type of vehicle, where and how suspension parts attatched, will definitly affect the vehicle's driveability....After the repair was done, a 4 wheel alignment should been done automatically....It should also have been road tested to make sure there were no problems...That being said, from your description, in my opinion, something was overlooked... See if you can get a copy of the original estimate and final bill from the Body Shop...That way, you can tell if everything that was supposed to be done, was actually done...Any reputable shop will have no problem supplying this...Depending upon how successful you are with dealing with them, if you are not satisfied, contact your insurance company, and describe to them your concerns...They should be able to get any issues resolved..Hope this helps...Please write back if you have any more questions or concerns...Thanks...Dave
