Answer
Hi Bobbie!   From your description, it sounds like a few things have possibly happened. Either the lift channel, ( which is a channel that is attatched to the bottom of the glass and attatches to the window regulator ) has detatched itself, or the guides on the regulator arms have come out of the lift channel. Also there is the possibility of the gears on the window motor where it attatches to the window regulator being stripped....Hence you hearing the motor running, but the window is not moving....Either way, obviously, you will have to remove the door panel first. That way you can see what you are up against. If it is the first diagnosis, what needs to be done, is to re-attatch the channel in the same position as original. Usually you can see where, by the markings on the glass itself. Use a good quality urethane windshield adheisive. Secondly, If the regulator guides have popped out of the channel, you simply need to slide them back into the lift channel. Just make sure that the lift channel itself does not have any deformation, or being spread apart, which would cause the guides to come out...Thirdly, if the gears are stripped connecting the motor to the regulator, you will be able to tell by hitting the window switch. What will happen is you will hear the motor running, but the arms of the regulator will not move...If that is the case, you will need to purchase a motor/regulator assembly...In any case, you might have to remove the regulator to position it back into the lift channel. In some cases, these are rivitted in. Drill out the rivits, and replace with new ones, or you can also bolt it back into place.....Hope this helps...Any more questions, please write me back....Thanks....Dave
