Auto body repair & detailing: paint, acrylic urethane, chevy astro

hi Gary thanks for reading and your time .primed after market hood for chevy astro ,do i need to sand it or paint right on it also how much paint do i  need for just a hood ?and how many code should i put on and do i need to clear code it after or no ?

Hi Amir,

Ideally, It's best to sand and seal with an Acrylic Urethane Sealer or Epoxy Primer (If you are talking about black e-coat primer, most sheet metal aftermarket parts come this way). Then, depending on what type of paint you use will change whether or not the part needs clear coated. Base-coat paint needs clear coat while there are single stage paints that dry glossy and will not need cleared. Your needs may vary depending on the color. My recommendation would be to go to a automotive paint store and get some help deciding what type of paint you should use.
