Auto body repair & detailing: 2001 Dodge Stratus, 2001 dodge stratus, dodge stratus

Question
My son had a car accident with his 2001 Dodge Stratus.  He was going 75 in a 35 and stepped on his brakes to try and make a turn.  The Stratus went side ways towards a 50 foot ravein and was stopped by a very thin tree.  the car was on its left side and the back window blew out due to the impact.  The back window pain looks bent and there is a dent next to the gas cap.  The engine and body are in perfect condition.  the repair shop (a transmission shop) I took it to, could not believe that there wasn't any wheel, frame or engine damage.  The car drove home fine.  But winter is upon us and I am not sure if I should try and repair the roof and back window or try and sell it for engine and transmission parts?  I bought the car last September for $3,600.00.  Put another $1,600 in spark plugs, and engine repairs and two new front tires.
I have no idea what to do from here. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I can send a photo if it would help.
Sincerely,
Paula

Answer
I WOULD HAVE A BACK GLASS INSTALLED AND GET HIM BACK ON THE ROAD.
YOU HAVE INVESTED 3600....SELLING THE ENGINE AND TRANS WOULD PUT YOU FURTHER BEHIND. ASK A BODY SHOP IF THEY CAN LOCATE AND INSTALL A BACK GLASS...MOST SHOPS SUBLET GLASS WORK OUT TO A GLASS INSTALLER.
