Auto body repair & detailing: moisture under clear coat, magnetic signs, hair blow

Question
Hi Gary, I had magnetic signs on the doors of my Sienna which is silver pearl, when I removed the signs I noticed the doors have "changed" in tone somewhat where the signs were placed. my question is do you think maybe moisture got into the clear coat?
because I can't seem to polish them out no matter what I try. If moisture did get under the clear is there any way to get the dicoloration out without a repaint? Thanks.. John

Answer
Hi John,

Unfortunately, if the sign has been on for a length of time it will be hard to do anything with it besides re-finishing. The only thing you might try is a heat gun or maybe a hair blow dryer and heat that area up nice and warm and see then if any of the moisture appears to disappear. If that works you might continue working over the rest of the area. If you must have a sign on your vehicle try using vinyl.
