Auto body repair & detailing: 1966 Mustang Coupe, mustang coupe, bondo

Hi, I have just purchased a 1966 mustang coupe which has had sonme sort of after market sunroof put in. I was wondering what you would suggest to do. Pull it out, patch it, work it  or try to find a new/donor roof. I just didnt like the idea of patching it myself and am lookng for someone else's veiw.

Dave, it depends upon your wallet. The best way would be to replace the roof skin with a donor skin- but it's pricey, and requires removal of all the glass. You can just have a piece of sheet metal welded in- but then the entire roof is going to be full of bondo. I mean this is gonna be a BIG bondo spot- not the type of thing an amateur i going to really e able to tackle without proper saders, like an air file or a mud hog (8 inch DA)Hpe this helps. Bill
