Auto body repair & detailing: 1990 Mustang, chipped paint, ford mustang

Question
I recently got an estimate for damage to a 1990 Ford Mustang. They quoted me $1500. The only damage is the driver side head light is cracked, the grill is dented in and the hood is bent up 1/2 inch-1 inch.  No chipped paint ect....does this sound accurate or too high?? Thanks

Answer
Baylie, it's impossible for me to give you any sort of damage appraisal without physically seeing the car, or knowing what the body shop labor rate is in your area. I will tell you this- bodywork damage repairs start adding up REALLY fast. I seldom see estimates for collision repairs (of the type which you are describing to me) go for less than a thousand. 1500 is well within reason.
