Nissan Repair: 95 Nissan Maxima 120K Miles, Idling problem, nissan maxima, torque converter

Question
Thank you for advance for your time - I had a diagonstic from Nissan have changed 3 oxgen sensors, plugs and fuel filter and still dies out at idle when engine is warm at 800-1200 rpm, above that it drive fine (i.e. in traffic, id stalls every time I hit the break and I have been driving it in and out of neutral)  Please help, my mechanic had the car for 3 weeks.  Also, is fixing the ABS worth it, the light is on and my mechanic saids don't worry about it.

Answer
Andrew,

The engine dies when you come to a stop.  There are a couple of things here that can cause this.  The computer locks the torque converter when the engine is at operating temperature and if it does not unlock when you slow to a stop it could cause the car to die.  Then it will start right back up.  There is a solenoid that sticks and it is in the transmission.  If it dies when you hit the brake then I would be looking at the minimum air setting on the throttle and make sure that the throttle is clean.  The ABS will not work with the light on and the brakes will function normally, without the ABS part.  Now, if it were me I would bleed the system with Ford High Performance Brake Fluid and reset the ABS light and see if that corrects the problem.  If the light still comes on you will probably need a new ABS unit.  Now, if you knew what the ABS code was you could correct it.  The usual suspects here are the ABS module that controls the fluid or one of the sensors at the wheels.
