Auto body repair & detailing: fisheye problems, water separators, diesel fumes

Question
At my shop, we are having a serious problem with fisheye showing up in our paint plug4jobs. we have two water separators and a five stage filter system before the air gets to the paint gun and then a ball inline filter but we still have bad fisheye. we also use fisheye remover and we make sure to solvent surfaces to be painted several times before any paint flies. is it possible that our compressor is terminally contaminated or something? any thoughts on a solution would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Answer
Is there a detail shop near you? Diesel fumes will also cause fisheyes. Certail underarm deodorants will cause fisheyes, such as Red zone aint-perspirant from- I believe the company is old spice. When you can't find obvious sources, look outside the box a little. Does one of the guys that work there have a car that he keeps immaculately detailed? He may be dragging contaminant into the shop from his personal auto. Hope this helps. Bill
