Auto body repair & detailing: How do I replace a rear side window on a 97 Plymouth Voyager, phillips screws, plymouth voyager

QUESTION: I need to replace the drivers side rear window in my 97 Plymouth Voyager.  This is the side one that pops out 2 or 3 inches.  It is manual,  not electric or controlled by a cable.

ANSWER: Hi Sam, The vent window can be a little tricky to remove. You will have to remove the side door glass to allow the vent window enough room to be removed.A assistant is nice so he/she can hold the glasss while you dissamble the hardware. Hope this helps and all the best to you..Kim

QUESTION: Hi Kim,
Thanks for the reply.  The window I have to replace is on the drivers side.  There is no passenger door.  I did a little more research and it seems that window is bolted in from the inside which means I have to remove the trim inside the van.  So now my question is the trim just snapped in?  What is the best way to remove it?  Is there any thing I should be careful of when I remove the trim?

Hi Sam, The inside door panel will have a combination of Phillips screws and also plastic push ins on the back side of the panel;;You should use a moulding clip removal tool to gain access between panel and the door shell.Be sure to do the prying on the plastic clip itself otherwise you may damage the backside of the door pad...The screws you will find in the armrest. You will also need a handle clip removal tool to take the handle off, the clip is shaped like a horseshoe and is spring steel. it is on the underside of the handle so wedge the tool between the handle and the door pad- this clip is easy to loose when you push on the tool so be prepared, I use my hand to stop the clip from flying across the room.
