Auto body repair & detailing: clear coat peeling and bunching, toyota corolla wagon, toyota corolla
95 Corolla Door with C
I have a 1995 toyota corolla wagon, Teal Mist Metallic paint. On the hood, roof, and driver's side door the paint is rough and oxidize. At the area where the peeeling starts, it has a white edge leading into the faded area.  Someone used a wax on the car and it clearly defines the failed area.  I want to keep the original paint, and just cleanup the bad spots until I can save enough to get a paint job.  How much would an okay paint job cost???
Thanks for your help.

Answer
The clearcoat has a condition known as chalking= basically, the sun has beat it to death, and now it's basically turning to dust. The car needs stripped= a costly proposition. I would figure on spending no less than 1500.00 for a decent base/clear paint job.
