Auto body repair & detailing: Hazy and Yellow Headlights, headlight lens, yellow headlights

Question
QUESTION: Hi,

I have a Chevy Pickup and the headlights are yellow and hazy. I have read a couple of places online that says you can use things like oven cleaner or even real fine grit sand paper to remove the haziness and yellowing layer of plastic. But before I started trying this I thought I would ask someone who might would know more about it. Thanks in advanced for your help.

ANSWER: Hi Kelly,

I would not use oven cleaner on my headlights under any circumstances. 3M makes a Headlight Lens Restoration Kit for restoring headlights back to their original appearance. It's fairly easy for the Do-It-Yourself to use. All you need besides the kit is a drill that turns about 1200-1600 RPM's. Here is a link to a website that sells it and they also have a video detailing how to use the kit. Good luck with it and I hope this has helped you out.

This sounds exactly like what I am looking for. The only
problem is you forgot to post the link. Have a Merry
Christmas!

Answer
Hi Kelly,

I'm very sorry! I'm not sure if it's due to age or stress. Could be both. Anyways here is the link that I didn't attach to the last question: http://www.repaintsupply.com/pd-3m-39008-headlight-lens-restoration-system.cfm. I wish you a Merry Christmas as well.
