Auto body repair & detailing: auto body repair hazards, harmful toxins, auto body repair

Question
Just put my car (2008 Odyssey) in the shop for extensive work ($13,000+) following an accident.  Rear end damage as well as driver-side front and side damage.  I am concerned about bringing the car home and exposing my family to dust and particulates from the repair.  When I voiced my concerns to the shop owner, he said that they use plastic on the inside and "blow out" the car as part of cleaning the inside and outside of the car.  I have 3 kids and we live in our van - eating, sleeping, etc.  I am very concerned about possible hazards.  I appreciate any advice.

Answer
Terri, you will be fine. I've spent YEARS covered with body shop dust, and have had no adverse reactions. There are probably more harmful toxins and pollutants in the air we breathe than can possibly be left residually in your vehicle from a body repair. If you are truly concerned, let it set outside for several hours with all the doors open to vent out. Bill
