Auto body repair & detailing: Removing wheel paint from body, spray removal, body paint

Question
Hi. I recently sprayed my car with some wheel paint. I don't know what I was thinking. I wrote on the hood "Jaguar" but the paint leaked and now I'm desperatelly looking to remove it. I went to a local body shop, just to ask for theyre advice. They said I should try gasoline. I want to remove it without harming the body paint. I read some posts here and saw that maybe acetone might work, but I want to make sure before I do anything stupid again. Thank you !

Answer
Hi Vlad,

If it was from a spraycan it should come off rather easily with acetone. I don't believe I would use gasoline at all. If Acetone doesn't work you can try this item:

Be forewarned if you use these wipes you must neutralize the area where it was applied after you're finished or it will remove the factory finish all the way to the metal. This product works fabulous if used with caution. There are also other types of over-spray removal products on the market that will also but not as well.
