Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Starters for Craftsman Lawn Tractor with 15.5 Kolher Engine, starter

I have a Craftsman Lawn Tractor with a 15.5hp kohler engine. The model number is 917.271020.  How can you tell if the starter needs to be replaced or is it something else?  The engine will not turn over.  All I get is a buzzing sound.  The battery is good and I just tuned up the engine in fall.

Pull the spark plug out and see if the engine will turn over normally and let me know what you get.  Thanks, PK.
