Auto body repair & detailing: Car Door Rust, plastic body filler, rust hole

Hey, i have a rust hole in my car door the size of an apple.  I was wondering what the best method would be to fix the hole or slow the rusting?

The best way to repair the area would be cut it out and put in new sheet metal or a patch panel. However, for a short term repair you can use fiberglass cloth and resin to cover the hole and use a plastic body filler to fill any imperfections. If you decide to do the fiberglass method I would recommend using a product like POR-15 to treat the rust before you cover it up.
