Auto body repair & detailing: 87 ford bronco, fender flare, ford bronco

Question
(i have attached a picture) i just bought a 1987 ford bronco, its in fairly good condition. there is some rust around the wheel well of the back tire, and the lower part of the body i was wondering what i should do to fix this and put a new fender flare on it. also   i need to reattach the rearview mirror, a mechanic did it for me once but it fell off the second i touched it even though i waited like an hour. what kinds of glue should i use. what is a 1987 ford bronco in this condition worth? its a 302 v8. it was 33 inch tires wih 95% tread left. and i bought it for 1500. if you have time my last question was, when i hit the gas peddle it accelerates very slowly and i have to push quite hard down, what do i do about that. (i have a 78 ford bronco but i am assuming that non of the parts can be switched? just answer what you can please

Answer
Hi Rhianna,

For the rust to be fixed correctly it will need to be cut out and patch panels will need to be welded back in. You can check with places like J.C. Whitney or someone similar for patch panels. If you're looking for a short term fix it can be treated with a rust converter then fiberglassed over and filled with plastic body filler.

For the rear view mirror you can buy a adhesive for it. My suggestion is  sand the glass very lightly only where the mirror button attaches to the windsheild. Then clean the area good with a degreaser and apply the glue to the button and press it firmly onto the windsheild. It may be a good idea to use a masking tape to hold it on till the glue cures. I would allow it to sit overnight before I tried putting the mirror on the button. Here is a link where you can find the glue: http://www.repaintsupply.com/pd_rearview.cfm

For the value you'll need to check with http://www.kbb.com

The gas pedal issue is beyond my expertise.

I hope this helps out some.
