Auto body repair & detailing: Rear-ended 2001 Honda Civic, two doors, car check
honda 1
We were rear-ended and our trunk was pushed up so that the opening of what is left is about a 1/2 foot. the back two doors have gaps and even the front bumper there is a gap about an inch. I have attached some pictures and want to know what you think of the damage, I have never had body work done and so we took the car to a suggested auto body place. We havent heard anything back yet, but I am worried they are going to try to fix the car and it will no longer be safe. Any suggestions would be great. I have 2 other pictures available of the front bumper gap.

Answer
If the shop was recommended by your ins. co., your ins. co. will warranty the work as long as you own the car, check to make sure, this is common practice. With all the state and federal licensing and inspections going on these days, not to many shops will try to get away with an unsafe repair. If you are worried about this shop, get some more references or take it to a shop you know or have heard from your friends that does good work. You have the right to have it fixed anywhere, it is your car.
