Auto body repair & detailing: Frame rail replacement on Lexus, frame man, 2007 lexus rx350

Question
I rear ended another car with my 2007 Lexus RX350. The body shop and the
adjuster are in disagreement with replacing the front frame rail. The adjuster
told me that the frame rail damage is at the end of the bar and can be pulled
and straightened. The shop insists that they have tried to pull and there is
still 2 inches off and since it's a new car, it needs to be replaced. The adjuster
says that replacing the frame rail will devalue the car, is that true? What is
your advise on whether to replace or repair?  Thanks !!  (Looking forward to
hear from you real soon.)

Answer
Do you trust the shop? I can't believe they can't get the rail any closer than that. If the rail is kinked any where, by law, they have to replace it. If it is just swayed a little, they should pull it. Anyway, a good frame man can do either without you being able to see the repair. You either have a cheap insurance company or a bad shop or both. Good luck.
